15 Favorite Blog Posts, 1 Final Message

One of the most satisfying parts of my week for the past few years has been my Saturday morning routine. Most Saturday mornings, I sit down with a cup of coffee and my laptop to begin writing a post or two for the Life Time Weight Loss blog. I’ve always enjoyed this time because it required me to eliminate other distractions and really consider what I wanted to share with the goal of helping others shape their personal nutrition, metabolism, health, fitness, stress, sleep and other lifestyle choices.

While I’ll likely continue my Saturday morning ritual, I’m writing today’s blog post as a final sign-off from the Life Time Weight Loss blog and Flourish newsletter. For the past 12 years, I’ve been blessed with many roles at Life Time. The past few years were particularly satisfying. We’ve been able to develop some of our most cutting-edge programs and best-in-the-market products, many of which are featured here on the Life Time Weight Loss site.

200 Health and Fitness Tips for Our 200th Issue of Flourish

The blog posts on the Life Time Weight Loss site started as a Microsoft Outlook weekly newsletter for our Health and Fitness Professionals. Issue 1 was sent out February 15, 2009. Fitness, nutrition and weight management is a subject that’s always refined by new research. We learn more every year about how we can optimize our health and more easily achieve the type of body we want. Even though we learn more, we continue to battle against the obesity epidemic and a growing number of health complications in our population. Our goal with these blog posts, and the Flourish newsletter is to provide inspiration and education to help our readers make better decisions every day.

Since February of 2009, I’ve written between one and three articles every week. The more research I’ve read to write the articles, the more I’ve realized how confused people must be by the misinformation or half-truths they’re exposed to each day. I hope that 200 issues from now, we’ll have made greater strides in informing the public about what good nutrition, lifestyle and exercise choices really are. As I thought about what to write for issue 200, I thought I’d do something a little different. I sat down and typed out 200 thoughts I’ve shared with people over the years as they asked questions about nutrition and weight management. It’s a pretty long list.
