What Can T.E.A.M. Do for You?

How do your friends influence your waistline? Research continually demonstrates that we change our habits to mirror those in our social circles without necessarily thinking about it. In other words, if our friends and family members are making poor choices, their example can end up impacting our health and body weight. While we don’t need to let go of caring, long-term friendships and relationships, it’s important to have as many people as possible in our lives who are healthy and prioritize choices that enhance well-being. We can seek out new relationships by connecting with those who have similar goals. Among our most successful group programs for this vision are Life Time’s group training classes, known as T.E.A.M Weight Loss, T.E.A.M Fitness and T.E.A.M Bootcamp. All three programs offer our members a positive and motivating group dynamic for their personal journeys. The programs also create a community in which our members share ideas and support with one another as they practice healthy behaviors together. Read on to learn more about T.E.A.M. and what it can do for your transformation journey!

7 Reasons Support Matters for Weight Loss Motivation

“Don’t go it alone” is tried and true wisdom for weight loss. With the new year upon us, millions of Americans are attempting to lose weight. For many people, weight-loss inspired support groups can be an imperative tool, while others might also look to coaches or other professionals. Whether you choose group support, an individual coach or a trusted confidant, you’ll benefit from the very beginning. In fact, don’t start without someone in your corner! Below are seven reasons why support is crucial for weight loss!

8 Ways Our Partners Influence Our Weight Loss

“How much support do you have from your partner?” is a question I consistently ask during nutrition consultations with my clients. Let’s face it, when the one we love is on board with our weight loss plan, all of the new behaviors and changes we set out to make are easier to commit—and stick—to each day.  On the opposite side of the spectrum, their lack of cooperation can tank our success before we even begin!  Whether my clients’ response is positive or “less positive” to that initial question, it opens up the important discussion of how they can communicate with their partners about their goals and navigate the partnership dynamic in their weight loss journey—whether or not their partners are on board with the changes or not. Are you concerned about your partner’s influence on your progress?  Below are 8 ways your partner can either help or hinder your weight loss, along with an action plan for encouraging them to join in the journey!

8 Relationships You Can Build To Help You Lose Weight

We all have moments of rationalizing why we aren’t at the gym.  The alarm goes off, it’s dark outside, and you think to yourself “I just cannot get up now, but I will go to the gym after work.”  Or the moment while you sit in traffic after work and you think to yourself “I have had a long day and all I want to do is sit on the couch in my pajamas, watch TV, and drink a glass of wine.”  Or for those who work out of a home office the moment when you think “I just do not have time to leave work to go to the gym today. I will go tomorrow.”  I am sure that all of us have had one of these moments at some point.  So what is going to help you overcome these thoughts and get you to the gym on the path to accomplishing your goals? It certainly is not the appeal of logging some miles alone on a treadmill.
