90-Day Challenge: Week 11 How-To Guide

The end of the challenge is just weeks away!  Below is this week’s how-to guide.  Read on to learn about the highlighted Try-it Tuesday as well as a new tool and assignment to keep that motivation going through the finish!

Tuesdays Rule!

This week, participants got to trial TEAM Fitness – one of our signature group training programs.  TEAM fitness is a 12-week program that incorporates education, exercise and nutrition into three energizing and highly motivating group sessions per week.  The workout included functional resistance training and heart rate-based cardio training designed to increase your muscular and aerobic endurance.  For many participants, it was their first time using the free-motion strength equipment, so the class not only provided an entertaining workout, but also built up their confidence for using such equipment on a future workout.

90 Day Challenge: Week 10 How-To Guide

Tuesdays Rule!

This week, 90-Day challengers participated in Indoor Cycle Day, which highlighted our introductory, group fitness studio cycle class.  Studio Cycle classes are fun, exhilarating indoor cycle journeys built on the foundational principles of outdoor cycling. 90-Day Challengers not only had a blast in the lively atmosphere, but also experienced first-hand some of the benefits of indoor cycling, including increasing both their cardiovascular health and leg strength.  If you missed out this week, be sure to check your local club’s cycle class schedule.  If you made the event, and had a blast, be sure to keep cycle class on your weekly to-do list to keep your cardiovascular activity on routine.

Tuesdays Rule!

This week, 90-Day challengers gathered for our Nutrition Theatre event.  This is the second time we’ve hosted this type of a Try-it Tuesday and we couldn’t be more excited with the popularity of this event.  Nutrition Theatre gives participants the opportunity to learn about nutrition by watching one of the most popular nutrition documentaries, Fat Head, directed by and starring Tom Naughton.  There are many fabulous nutrition films, but Fat Head might be the most entertaining, and it is jam-packed with lessons that challenge what we’ve learned and understood about our current nation’s obesity epidemic.  If you missed out this week, be sure to check out our Fat Head movie review to learn some of our favorite lessons from the film or rent the movie for yourself!

This week’s event is round two of TEAM Weight Loss and will be hosted by one of your club’s TEAM instructors!  TEAM Weight Loss is one of our signature, group training programs that incorporates education, exercise and nutrition into three highly motivating and energizing group sessions each week.  It’s perfect for an individual that thrives on the energy of a group, yet, wants the attention of both a fitness and nutrition professional.  Now is chance to try-it for free – make sure you RSVP for a spot and don’t forget to weigh in!  If you enjoy your workout, make sure to ask your instructor when the next 12-week TEAM Weight Loss class begins at your club.

90 Day Challenge: Week 7 How-To Guide

This week, 90-Day Challengers officially passed the midpoint of the challenge!  This week’s highlighted Try-it Tuesday, tool and assignment pertain to stress management, for stress often gets in the way of a weight loss goal.  Got stress?  Read on to learn some key points to stay on your game plan!

Tuesdays Rule!

This week, participants fell in love with yoga!  Many people find that once they start yoga, it becomes a regular habit because it makes them feel so good.  Many people don’t consider Yoga when determining a plan for weight loss; however, with stress being one of the most common hormonal imbalances that get in the way of weight loss, yoga should be high on the priority list.   Yoga can provide many other benefits to anyone who practices, including:

  • Calming your mind, and help reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia
  • Bringing balance and harmony to the body, mind and spirit
  • Improving strength, balance, flexibility, and range of motion
  • Strengthening and toning muscles
  • Increasing circulation

Next week, participants get a second chance at trying out TEAM Weight Loss.  If you made it to the first TEAM Weight Loss event, you’ll be able to gauge your improvement, but if you missed out last time, be ready to sweat and have a great time!

Six weeks down, seven more to go!  Midpoint is on deck this Tuesday – are you still on a steady track towards your 90-Day goal?  Traditionally at this point, participants start to fall off the wagon – but don’t let that be you!  Read on to learn about the highlighted Try-it Tuesday as well as a new assignment to help keep you on your game plan!
