Cinnamon Chai Energy Balls

Generation UCAN has been a lifesaver this summer. I have used it to supplement my triathlon training and it truly has done wonders for my energy levels during the actual workout and recovery. Not surprising since clinical studies using the product have indicated that it keeps blood glucose levels more stable and also puts the body into an improved fat burning state. As an endurance athlete who needs to keep blood sugars from dropping out and prevent that dreaded “bonk,” you can understand why this product has been so awesome for me.

With that said, Generation UCAN can help ANYBODY with blood sugar issues, even if you’re not training to compete in a 4-hour endurance event like me. Generation UCAN should become a part of your everyday nutrition plan—whatever your goals may be.

But just like protein powders (which are pretty blah) on their own, I like to jazz up my Generation UCAN and add some other ingredients to it. These protein balls are perfect for satisfying my craving for a sweet snack that I can eat pre or post workout.


Yields:  12-14 energy balls



  1. In a large bowl, combine the protein powder, generation UCAN and cinnamon.
  2. In a small separate bowl, combine the sunflower seed butter, brown rice syrup and almond extract. Stir together and microwave on high for 30-45 seconds until runny.
  3. Add to the protein powder mixture, and slowly add ¼ cup almond milk as you mix the powders together to form a dough consistency.
  4. Roll into balls and refrigerate until set.

Calories: 150 | Fat: 5 grams | Carbs: 18 grams | Protein: 7 grams
