Looking for an easy side dish to complement a nicely grilled piece of salmon of beefy steak?  Baked tomatoes are possibly one of the easiest and taste-worthy sides in the book.  There are many ways to prepare this fruit, but if you’ve never baked or broiled them before – you must try this recipe.  With less than 20 minutes to prep and cook, you’ll want to add this dish into your menu rotation this season!

Prep Time:  5 minutes

Cook Time:  10 minutes



  1. Preheat oven to 450° F.
  2. Place sliced tomatoes on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top with cheese, pepper and basil.  Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 10 minutes, until the tomatoes are tender.
